All About Mrs. Tomazin
Thank you for stopping by to learn a little about me!
This is my sixth year teaching at Newark Valley Central School. I taught second grade for one year and have been working as a special education teacher with fourth and fifth grade students for the past four years. Every year has been exciting and memorable, as I work with wonderful students and staff.
Newark Valley is a very special place to me, as I have spent my entire life here. I graduated from Newark Valley High School in 2004. My husband, daughter, and I continue to live in Newark Valley, close to many of our family and friends. I absolutely love living and working in the community where I grew up. Bumping into my students outside of school is a regular occurrence, and I couldn't imagine it any other way!
As for my education, I attended Broome Community College and SUNY Cortland for my Undergraduate degree in elementary education. In December 2009, I completed my Master's degree in special education through Binghamton University. I also have attended many additional literacy, math, and co-teaching trainings in order to better support my students.
In my classroom, I support an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I work hard to build a good relationship with my students and emphasize the importance of working together.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy cooking and baking, gardening, spending time with my family, exercising, snowmobiling, and traveling. I love participating in running races. My biggest accomplishment thus far is running in a half-marathon. I am also a huge sports fan! I played soccer, basketball, and ran track in high school, and I have coached soccer and track for Newark Valley. I love watching football and attending our sporting events,
GO CARDINALS!
Newark Valley truly is a wonderful place, and I am looking forward to another great year with our students!
